The winner of the 25th VCÖ Mobility Award Austria has now been determined: MO.point – an innovative provider of smart urban mobility – takes home the coveted prize. Mo.point is a spin-off from the research project “Womo”, which was carried out together with Raum und Kommunikation. Spirit Design is a minority shareholder in Mo.point and very proud of the VCÖ overall win!
VCÖ Managing Director Willi Nowak is impressed by the offer:
“The possibility to choose between electric car, electric bike or electric cargo bike day by day in front of the door is future-oriented comfort. Depending on the need, everyday trips can be made here in a very simple, convenient and environmentally friendly way.”
The prize is awarded to MO.Point GmbH for the Perfektastraße project. In June 2016, the first Mobility Point was opened in the residential complex built by Österreichisches Siedlungswerk (ÖSW) at Perfektastraße 58 in Vienna’s 23rd district. There, residents and neighbors can rent environmentally friendly vehicles such as e-bikes, electric cars and electric cargo bikes. The vehicles are easily accessible, can be used around the clock and are located directly in the residential complex.
It is not only residents who benefit from the easy-to-use car and bike sharing service on their doorstep. MO.Point also brings advantages for property developers and project developers: The property receives a special added value and, in addition, the alternative mobility offer can contribute to the reduction of parking spaces and thus to the reduction of construction costs. In cities and communities, this demand-oriented mobility offer increases the quality of life. Sharing vehicles instead of owning them – that’s the trend.
